The titular role of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose is played by “Rajkumar Rao”.  The show is based on Anuj Dhar’s book- India’s Biggest Cover-Up. And the screenplay of the show is thrilling yet amazing.

The show tells about the ideologies and actions of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, against the British empire. The show rightfully deserves its place among the Top 5 Underrated Indian TV Shows, as it has an IMDB rating of 8.

Asur

When “Asur” was released, it revamped the genre of Indian TV series on OTT platforms because of its compact yet astounding storyline. This show also marked the OTT debut of “Arshad Warsi”.

The show is centered around the story of a CBI officer and a serial killer, whose kills are inspired by Indian mythology. The story carries mind-bending twists and turns.

This show is based on the most distinctive verdict in the history of the “Indian Judicial System”. The show comprises a total of 10 episodes, with a stellar star cast- Sumeet Vyas, Angad Bedi, and Kubbra Sait, among others.

The show depicts the Indian court case, where Commander K. M. Nanavati, who was a Naval commander, was tried for the murder of “Prem Ahuja”.

The story begins when Nanavati returns home from a mission, but only to find out that his wife is having an extramarital affair. 

THE VERDICT – STATE VS NANAVATI is a beautifully crafted tale of jealousy, murder, mystery, political drama.

It is a well-deserving heir to its place in the list of Top 5 Underrated Indian TV Shows.

The show has an IMDB rating of 7.6 and it is available to watch on ZEE 5.

 

Panchayat

It is yet another comedy-drama that comes from the makers of TVF Pitchers and Permanent Roommates. The protagonist is played by Jitendra Kumar, along with veteran actors like Raghubir Yadav and Neena Gupta.

The show is centered around the story of a boy, who after completing his graduation, lands a low salary job in a remote Indian village, which is known as “Phulera”.

This “Amazon Prime Video” series, brings the outskirts of rural India, to the TV screens/Mobile screens of metropolitan viewers.  The titular character is not happy with his job in the village, as he sees no growth in his career.

But he is also sad because one of his classmates has a high-salary paying job in the corporate sector. 

So whenever the protagonist talks to his friends and hears his party stories, the former is overtaken by a feeling of despicableness.

Panchayat is a gem in the genre of Top 5 Underrated Indian TV shows with an IMBD rating of “8.7”.

Ghoul

It is one of those Indian web series, which put Netflix’s name on the OTT platform map. Although it is a mini-series, but both the storyline and the acting by “Radhika Apte” are top-notch.

She is the protagonist of the series. The show is based on the Arab Folkore monster, known as “Ghoul”. 

Radhika Apte’s character name is “Nida Rahim”, who is a recently recruited military officer and is utterly loyal to the authoritarian regime. Her first appointment is in a secret military detention centre, where she is tasked to interrogate one of the most dreaded terrorists. 

But as the story progresses, the tale of devious twists and turns starts to take place, as the terrorist begins grilling the interrogators by exposing their hidden secrets.

During the course of all these events, Nida comes to an understanding that she is now dealing with another worldly force. And her current methods to combat it, won’t work in this case.

It is a genuine contender in the list of “Top 5 Underrated Indian TV Shows” and comes with an IMDB rating of “7.1”.
