One of the biggest protests that India has ever experienced is now getting responses internationally. Pop star Rihanna tweeted on 2 February typing, “Why aren’t we talking about this?  #FarmersProtest” which got the attention of 100 million followers that she has on twitter, posting a picture of farmers’ rally.

This obviously brought a lot of criticism as well along with the biggest criticism of one of the famous Bollywood stars who is famous for creating controversy, Kangana Ranaut. The true supporter of BJP wrote, “No one is talking about it because they are not farmers, they are terrorists who are trying to divide India, so that China can take over our vulnerable broken nation and make it a Chinese colony much like the USA. Sit down you fool, we are not selling our nation like you dummies”.

Not just her there have been many of the Indians that retweeted her tweet and thanked her for spreading awareness about it. Indian- Canadian comedian and actor Lily Singh retweeted and said, “Yes! Thank you so much. This is a humanity issue! #istandwithfarmers and this narrative is TIRED”.  The nation which is in war with itself needs to focus on the farmers for the agro-based society it is, for humanity, for the loss of many farmers that have lost their lives in this protest, for the changes it wants.

A Sweden based Environmental activist Greta Thunberg, also raised her voice in support of the farmers and tweeted, “ We stand in solidarity with #farmersprotest in India”. The followers of the government say that they are not answerable to others and that it is an internal matter.

This is not it, adult star- turned- web cam model Mia Khalifa has also shown her support for the farmers protest in India writing “What in the human rights violations is going on? They cut the internet around New Delhi?#farmersprotest” along with this she has also uploaded a picture of picture of farmers captioning it with ““Paid actors,” huh? Quite the casting director, I hope they’re not overlooked during awards season. I stand with the farmers. #farmersprotest

The 2 months long protest has gained international media because the internet services have been closed in the border area- Ghazipur, Tikri and Singhu which are the epicenters of the protests for past months. It was shut down on Saturday but then it was extended till 5PM Wednesday.
