On 26th of January, even after agreeing to terms and conditions put forth by Delhi Police, farmers broke all the barricades to enter Delhi and indulged themselves in creating hooliganism across most of the parts of the capital area. The protest was peaceful for a long time when they were protesting against the centre’s three farm laws but on the republic day protests came up with their worst behaviours.

Post all the tractor parades turning into vandalism Delhi Police have registered FIR against all the farmer leaders who have agreed upon the terms and conditions of the parade, at various police stations of Delhi on January 27th.

The terms and conditions for the tractor parade was

  1. Only 5,000 tractors are allowed.
  2. No aggressive and militant elements should not be occupied by the farmers.
  3. Leaders should accompany the groups they are coming with.
  4. The timing was between 12PM-5PM.

S.N. Srivastava, Delhi Police Commissioner while addressing the media on the violence of the republic day mentioned that no culprit will be spared and said that farmer unions were supposed to follow the terms and conditions which they did not and hence they are all accused of ‘betrayal’. Delhi Police has shown it’s bravery and a sigh of relief is that they are all safe.

He enlightened us on the FIR’s that there are a total of 25 FIR’s that have been registered in different police stations. 19 people have been arrested and 50 people have been detained.

Protesters have entered prohibited areas and have not followed the path that the tractor rally was allotted. Srivastava has something to say on this as well- He said that they broke barricades, entered areas which are restricted, brought aggressive and militant elements and created dissonance among themselves.
