Early life:

Born in Buckingham Palace in the United Kingdom, Prince Charles is the eldest son of the Monarch Queen Elizabeth and her late husband, the late Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip. It is said that Prince Charles has been the first in line to the throne ever since his birth. After his maternal grandfather, King George passed away, Elizabeth was crowned as the Queen of England. Soon after becoming the Queen, she gave birth to Prince Charles. 

Queen Elizabeth realized that not being educated from a regular school made her knowledge limited. Hence, she sent her eldest son Prince Charles to Hill House School in west London. Later on, he was sent to Cheam Preparatory School in Berkshire, England, and Gordonstoun in the northeast of Scotland.  

In one of his biographies, Prince Charles shared that he was a sensitive child but always wished his parents were slightly more connected to him. He described his mother and father to be very busy people who never spent enough time with him. He even said that Prince Philip was specifically annoyed by Charles being so sensitive, and hence he was sent to Gordonstoun, where he was bullied.

Charles is also the first heir apparent to attend a university right after his graduation, instead of joining the British military. Prince Charles did not share a very loving and normal relationship with his parents, especially his mother. As per his biography, the Queen was surrounded by her responsibilities which gave her a very limited time to share with her kids and husband. Also, some people who’ve been around the royal family for a long time, believed that the idea of Prince Charles becoming King Charles frightened Queen Elizabeth. 

Prince Charles shall be crowned only after the death of Queen Elizabeth. Hence his ascent to the throne would mean her death, which was an important reason for the emotional distance between Prince Charles and his mother.

Talking about his romantic relationships, Prince Charles has been a part of countless controversies. Charles dated Camilla Parker for a long time before the two were married and were in love with the woman. However, Camilla got married to her on and off boyfriend, leaving Charles heartbroken.
