COVID Third Wave Will Peak In October Kids To Be On The Hit-List

As per the health experts of India, the probability of a third wave has been assured in October. This is the reason that the vaccination campaign is in full swing throughout the nation. A panel from the Union Home Ministry has warned the Prime Minister’s Office regarding the precautions of the third wave. 

Third Wave To Peak In October 

A panel of experts designed under the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) of MHA, which has alerted the government about the third wave. In the report, submitted to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the committee has spoken about the crucial need for pediatric facilities. It should include equipment like- ventilators, ambulances, etc. It also included the urgent need for the infrastructure needed to cure children. These experts have mentioned the need to arrange vaccination drives for children with the simultaneous presence of two or more diseases or medical conditions and those with special needs. 

 

The Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has hinted that children might start getting their COVID 19 vaccine from September. Another great news is that drug regulators of India have approved Zydus Cadila’s ZyCoV-D vaccine for children from the age group above 12 years. 

Third Wave Preparedness For Children

A study that was named ‘Third Wave Preparedness: Children Vulnerability and Recovery’ concluded that while children may not be able to get infected by the virus but they can easily pass it on to others. These experts have recommended a few things to be done urgently, which includes the following:-

  1. A comprehensive home care model 
  2. Increase in pediatric medical capacities
  3. Set mental health issues among children on the top of the list
  4. A model where parents or guardians could easily stay up with their COVID wards.  
  5. They have written that policies for children belonging to different age groups or backgrounds should not be the same. 

 

They have concluded that awareness programs should take place in rural areas while making sure that disadvantaged communities get all surety of the same. It was mentioned by a report of NDTV. 

Current Situation In The Nation

The schools have started opening up in many different states. The report has suggested micro-management at district levels to make sure that everything works out well. If there will be any chances of COVID 19 cases at any school, it shall shut immediately afterward. It is recommended by World Health Organization to assure the safety of educational management and students. 

 

As per the Union Information and Broadcasting minister Anurag Thakur, the government of India is all prepared for the upcoming challenges of the third wave. Special attention is been paid to increasing and strengthening pediatric care. 

 

The second wave of the coronavirus had brought havoc in the nation, with a great number of deaths every day throughout the nation due to the lack of oxygen and infrastructure like beds. Now with the decline of the second wave, the government has come up stronger than before.
