Educational Experience Vs Educational Achievement

An investment in knowledge pays the best interest. But, do you think, the saying is as accurate as it goes? The question remains unanswered until the time we identify the thin line that differentiates the two concepts- educational experience and educational achievement.

The education system these days focuses more on achievements rather than experience. Our knowledge gets polished when we gain more and more experience. Without actually realizing the concept of experience we stamp a seal of achievement after the completion of the experience, forgetting the fact that experience is a never-ending concept. People keep on gaining experience even after completing the highest of all degrees.

Binding the students in the framework of competition and achievements makes them like a blind bull. Moreover, they only strive to get good marks and not pay attention to understanding what is taught. In other words, this encourages getting good marks through mugging up and not actually grasping the concept efficiently. Learning is not the product of teaching. Learning is the product of the activity of learners. Students are so driven to achieve degrees and achievements that they tend to get depressed at such an early age where they are not supposed to. It’s not their fault, this happens because of the education system which still follows the old education system. The education system forgets the fact that educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.

Success doesn’t come with a note written with the terms and conditions of educational achievements. We are the ones who have mistaken the concept of success. Success comes with excellence and excellence comes with experience. After you have reached the final destination your achievements will only remain as a showcase for your wall shelves. Neither they are going to pay you nor they are going to feed you but your educational experience will make way for you to get paid and fed.

The educational system must go hand in hand with the generation and its needs. The students should enjoy learning. They must be taught the things in which they have their interest. Rather than pushing the students into competitions, they must be taught about how to gain an ample amount of experience from every area where their interest falls. The education system should not assign a maximum number of courses to the students but rather they must offer the maximum number of courses to them to choose their favorite ones.

Achievements are the happiness of accomplishment but it will only last once you achieve something bigger than the previous one. But the process of learning and gaining experience continues until the day you die.

The education system should first educate itself and should bring a change where everyone can easily differentiate between educational experience and educational achievement. With this change, we will be able to see a day where our youth will be free of all the societal framework of education, where they will not run after success but the success will run after them. After all, change is the end result of all true learning.
